Hello, My name is Joseph Hogan. I’m 26 years old and originally from Dublin, Ireland. I have been teaching for more than 5 years now, in my native Ireland, then in Germany and Russia, and now finally online via Skype. I have earned TEFL certification, along with Mefac and Mefi.

Originally I did not plan to be an English teacher, it’s more something that I fell into, and I’m surprisingly happy with it. I am tried as a European commercial pilot, but right now I’m taking a break to travel as a passenger for once. .I can say that gives me some specialisation in aviation English, which is a required language for all pilots and aviation crew. So obviously aviation and anything related interest me a lot. I also like cartography, the making and collecting of maps, astrophysics, philosophy. As for sports I really want to be more involved in rugby, and ultimate.

In my 5 years of teaching I’ve had almost every type of student at every possible level. I’ve taught businessmen, full time mothers, children, college students, media and marketing companies, scientists, holidaymakers and test takers .I have had students from absolute beginners who speak languages that I don’t , and almost native speakers who need the very highest level of English to really impress.

In my lessons I much prefer to use tangential learning methods, so learning feels absolutely nothing like learning and has none of the grind or tiresome drudgery of old fashioned teaching methods, while still maintaining a very high level of knowledge retention and understanding. Anything you enjoy, you will be eager to understand.
